The Boise River

A tributary of the Snake River, the Boise River is approximately 75 miles long.  The Boise Greenbelt provides an avenue to walk along the river, however there is much more fun to be had.

During the summer months the Boise River is packed with tubers, rafters, and kayakers.  Wildlife observation, fishing, etc are also great activities provided by the Boise River. For more information on floating the Boise River click here.

Table Rock

If you are looking for a great view of the valley you can take a short drive and head up to Table Rock.  You can't miss it, it is the place where you see the giant cross in the hills.  While up there; there are paths, hiking, and a great view.  One word of caution; wear good shoes!  Over the years the area has accumulated a lot of broken glass.  You can drive up to Table Rock however part of the dirt road is bumpy.  A better way to get up there is to hike up from the Old Penitentiary. If you choose to drive head to north Boise.  Heading north on Broadway take a Right on Reserve Street and another Right on Table Rock Road.  If you choose to hike up click here for directions.
